Some photo sessions are about timing, outfits, and locations.
A YOU-Session is about something else entirely.
It’s about slowing down. About being present. About creating space for real connection, without expectations, without pressure, without the feeling of “performing” for the camera.
Over the past months, I’ve photographed several YOU-Sessions across Italy, from the pastel harbor of Portofino, to the quiet backstreets of Florence, to the soft, open landscapes of Tuscany. Different places, different couples, one shared idea: this time is about you.
What a YOU-Session really feels like
A YOU-Session can happen at sunrise, when the city is still asleep.
Or during a long walk through olive groves, vineyards, or along the sea.
Sometimes it’s spontaneous. Sometimes it’s carefully chosen because the place means something to you.
There’s no fixed route and no rigid plan. We talk, we walk, we pause. I observe, anticipate, and photograph what unfolds naturally. The camera stays in the background. The experience stays in the foreground.
These sessions are often chosen for engagements, proposals, or save-the-date photos. Just as often, couples book them simply because they want beautiful images of the two of them, as they are, right now.
Italy as a quiet backdrop, not the main character
Italy has a way of elevating moments without stealing attention.
In Portofino, it might be the early morning light reflecting on the water.
In Florence, a narrow street that suddenly opens onto history.
In Tuscany, wide horizons and the feeling that time has slowed down.
But the location is never the point. It’s the atmosphere it allows. Italy doesn’t demand anything from you. It gives you space.

What couples often tell me afterwards is not “we love the photos” (though they do).
