{Melanie and Axel} Wedding at Lake Como, Italy

I was thinking of what to write about Melanie and Axel’s beautiful wedding at Lake Como in Italy when Junebug Weddings’ blogpost came into my mind :)

The Newlyweds: Melanie and Axel

Junebug: What were your most important goals in planning your wedding?
Melanie and Axel: We wanted to have a great time with good friends and family, in a beautiful place.

Junebug: How would you describe your personal wedding style?
Melanie and Axel: Natural and Stylish

Junebug: Where did you hold your wedding and reception, and why?
Melanie and Axel: We chose the Hotel San Giorgio in Lenno, Lago Di Como because of the beauty and atmosphere of the place.

Junebug: What three adjectives describe your wedding best?
Melanie and Axel: Dreamlike, Unforgettable, and Fantastic

Junebug: What were you looking for in a photographer?
Melanie and Axel: We wanted someone who would be able to capture all the important moments with a unique perspective.

Junebug: What specifically drew you to Julian Kanz and his imagery?
Melanie and Axel: We were really drawn to the spirit of his photos and the presentation on his website.

Junebug: What did you enjoy most about working with Julian Kanz?
Melanie and Axel: He was uncomplicated, creative, and spontaneous. He captured all the emotions of the day and we’re extrememly happy with the quality of the photos.

Junebug: How did you approach this particular wedding and what did you most want to capture during shooting?
Julian: This wedding was really well organized and a pleasure to photograph. The guests were relaxed and had a lot of fun. My goal was to capture the “spirit” of the day. Melanie and Axel were a beautiful couple, there were so many amazing places around Lake Como and guests who had so much fun and enjoyed that fantastic day.

Junebug: Were there any special photographic requests from the couple that made this wedding especially exciting creatively or personally?
Julian: They wanted only to have captured their wedding day in a relaxed way. Of course we did a more formal portrait session in the garden of the Villa del Balbienello….some of you may remember this location from Star Wars ;)

Junebug: What was the most fun part of this wedding for you to photograph?
Julian: To be honest, the whole day was fun. But I’d have to say, the most fun part was probably the time we were in the park of the Villa for the portrait session.

Junebug: What kind of equipment did you use while shooting this wedding?
Julian: Canon 5D Mark II with 16-35mm, 35mm 1.4, and PocketWizards with 580EX flash

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!! This is the kind of wedding I think about when I let my mind wander. Gorgeous bride and groom, venue, table settings, ceremony, too much to mention. And beautiful photography. BRAVO!
