Do you want to know what’s probably the most beautiful wedding venue in Liguria? A lot of people say it’s “Cervara Abbey
” in Portofino and maybe they are right. It’s an amazing venue for a destination wedding, directly on the coast of the mediterranean sea, with a breathtaking view. La Cervara abbey was built in 1361 when the first stone of the fascinating monastery dedicated to San Girolamo was put on the ground. Liza and Brian are a beautiful and super funny couple from New York, Brian is a very talented artist, he has appropriated the technique of gridding, applying it to reproduced images taken from the Internet. The pixilated photos feature a variety of subjects, such as portraits of David Bowie, Dash Snow, and Mark Rothko, along with still lifes and trompe l’oeil. They both chose “La Cervara” to celebrate their amazing wedding together with all the families and friends. They prepared themselves at Imperiale Palace Hotel – Grand Hotel in the bay of Portofino before heading to Cervara Abbey (Italian: Abbazia della Cervara or Abbazia di San Gerolamo) which is also a designated National Monument of Italy.
